Man arrested in connection with Pocomoke homicide

Police say that a man has been arrested in connection with a Pocomoke homicide that happened on December 1.

According to Maryland State Police, 36-year-old Anthony Tunnel was arrested without incident at 7AM on Sunday morning at a hotel in Salisbury, by members of the Maryland State Apprehension Team. Tunnel is charged with first and second degree murder, manslaughter and other drug related criminal charges.

Police say he is currently at the Wicomico County Detention Center waiting to be seen by a court commissioner.

The victim identified as 26-year-old James Allen of Pitts Circle in Pocomoke City was pronounced dead after 10PM on December 1 after suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. After police received a 9-1-1 call reporting the incident, Pocomoke City Police officers responded to the scene at the corner of Market and 4th Street in Pocomoke City. Later, the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit were asked to take the lead in the investigation.
