Maddox Lifts Lake Forest Over Milford

The Spartans of Lake Forest defeated the Buccaneers of Milford by a score of 50-32.

This was a very big defensive game and this showed in the beginning of the game. In the first quarter, there was not much scoring going on, but the defense on both sides was very intense and very scrappy. The intensity would show as their was a technical foul given out after a hard foul and after that the referees got the game under control. In the second quarter, Milford got into some foul trouble and Lake Forest took complete advantage totaling 11 points from the line just in that quarter. Yasmin Rowley for the Spartans also stepped up big in the second quarter with two big threes. Milford was not going down without a fight, led by Rajene Bowe they too had a big second quarter. Bowe managed to also get a lot of looks from the free throw line and she also was finding her teammates with some nice passes. Since some of Milford's key players were in foul trouble early on, they couldn't pressure and play defense the way they wanted to and the Spartans saw the weakness and started attacking the basket. Lake Forest didn't stop their offensive attack as they started to pull away and never looked back.

The Spartans will return to action against Caravel Academy on December 22nd, as the Buccaneers will return to action against Smyrna High School on December 20th.3
