JMB student shows appreciation to teachers, staff

James M. Bennett High School ('JMB') Started off with a rough year, as students dealt with the loss of one of their classmates; however, one student wanted to bring positivity to the school.

Sophomore Rehman Liaqat says he wanted to appreciate the entire staff, faculty, and custodians for offering support to the students.

In November, Rehman started to rally students together to raise money in order to pass out gifts and donuts on the last day of school before winter break.

The students raised over 150 dollars.

Rehman tells 47ABC the reactions of the staff were worth it.

"They were full of joy and happiness because they actually think someone appreciates them, and I'm really really happy to do this project," he says. "I'm thinking to continue doing this next year also."

The sophomore tells us he hopes to make next year's event even bigger and better with even more students involved.
