Indians Edge Out Close One Over Wildcats

The Wi-Hi girls basketball team stayed perfect on the year after pulling out a 44-42 win over Delmar Wednesday night. The win improves the Indians to 7-0, while the loss drops the Wildcats to 0-6.

Early on, there was definitely a big sense of defense all over the court. Both teams were hustling all over the place on defense and it was a very tough ball game. Although there may be a difference in records, this game was a battle all the way through. Delmar came out with a chip on their shoulder as many people were doubting them and they stepped up to the plate. Aizha Brown for the Wildcats came out big on the boards for them tonight and for many of those boards she was getting good shots that she often capitalized on. Wi-Hi also was playing great basketball as they had scoring spread all across the board, but Alexis Phillips for them was there go to and she was very effective. Phillips was shooting the long ball, sharing the ball, just doing everything a coach could ask their point guard to do. Wi-Hi's offense was rolling as Phillips and Tyshae King posted double digits. The game was close and back and forth all game, but the Indians' rallied together, showed their adversity and pulled this one out.
