Indian River votes to host expense referendum

On Wednesday night, the Indian River school board voted to host a current expense referendum.

According to officials, the Indian River board decided to hold the referendum on March 2, 2017.

Officials say, the amount of the proposed tax increase is the same as the November 22 referendum, which is 49 cents. The price will raise $7,350.  There will also be changes made to how the funding will be distributed.

In case the original vote is postponed because of inclement weather, the alternate date is on March 16.
