Homicide investigation underway in Pocomoke City

47 ABC has confirmed members of the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit have taken over an investigation in Pocomoke City.

According to Pocomoke City Police, officers responded to a situation in the area of 4th Street and Market Street Thursday night.

Police are remaining tight-lipped about what happened at the scene, however our news crew has confirmed areas of Market Street are closed off for at least a block surrounding the investigation.

As of about 12:30 a.m. Friday, officers from Pocomoke City, the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, and Maryland State Police were still on the scene.

Members of the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company also confirmed their presence at the investigation.

Initial unconfirmed reports of an incident were recorded around 10:20 p.m.

47 ABC is awaiting more information from investigators regarding the nature of the incident, as well as details about any potential victims or suspects in the area.
