Hickey tallies 25 pts in Saints Peter & Paul win over North Caroline

The Saints Peter and Paul girls basketball team looked impressive Monday night in their big win over North Caroline 55-38 in the first round of the Overtime Christmas Tournament. The loss drops the Bulldogs to 0-6.
The Sabres would take the early lead in the game thanks to the hot hand of Megan Hickey. She would connect on 4 jumpers in the first quarter on her way to finishing the frame with 10 points. The Bulldogs would hang tough tough getting 18 points from Kayla Price as they found themselves down just 5 after the first. But the offense eventually would start to take over the game for the Sabres. Jennifer Douglas would be able to connect on a couple short baseline jumpers before Cat Christian would have a big second half, finishing 11 points after halftime. North Caroline continued to battle and got a couple baskets underneath from Megan Robbins, but the lead proved to be to much to overcome.
Saints Peter & Paul returns to action on Tuesday when they face Easton in the championship game, while North Caroline faces Washington in the Consolation match.
