Harford Christian overcomes halftime defecit to top Worcester Prep

Worcester Prep got their 2016 Governor's Challenge Tournament run off to a slow start Tuesday when they fell to Harford Christian Academy 50-43. The Mallards now move to the loser side of their bracket where they will face off against Mardela on Wednesday.

Worcester Prep held a 7 point lead at the half over the Eagles. In the first half Prep's Tucker Brown had a team high 9 points and Christians Derrick Roland led his team with 8 points. In the second half, the Eagles came out on fire cutting the lead to just 5 in the fourth quarter, thanks in part to Roland's 9 points in the third quarter. After a technical foul to start the fourth quarter by the Mallards, the Eagles were able to use that momentum to get ahead by 3 with just under 1 minute to play. with the ball in their hands Prep attempted a handful of potential game tying shots but came up just short. The Mallards drop this one 50-43 in the first round.
