Four Ravens finish in double figures as Sussex Tech tops Mardela

The Sussex Tech girls basketball team showed off their depth Wednesday night after four different players finished in double figures in their 64-33 win over Mardela. The win improves the Ravens to 4-2, while the loss drops the Warriors to 0-6.
The Ravens would be able to grab the early lead thanks to strong play in the post from Kara Hignutt. The center would score 8 or her 12 points in the first quarter alone to get her team going. Once they had established a post presence, the outside shots began to fall. RuKiya Davis would knock down three 3's in the second quarter as Sussex Tech's lead would stretch to over 20. Mardela wasn't ready to go away just yet as Kayle Cook would be able to get out in transition and get to the rim for a few scores. Once the Warriors would have to set up a half court set, Armani Banks was able to connect on a couple short jumper herself too. But the Ravens continued to push. Janiya Stevens would add a couple buckets in the fourth quarter to reach double figures in scoring while Arielle Parker would be able to do the same.
Sussex Tech returns to action on January 3rd when they face Caesar Rodney, while Mardela
