Fireworks, minor road closures planned for Salisbury ball drop

Salisbury city officials are reminding residents about the upcoming New Year's Eve celebrations planned in downtown Salisbury on the evening of December 31st.

The Salisbury Arts and Entertainment District is producing the New Year's Eve SBY Ball Drop on behalf of The City of Salisbury.

Minor road closures are planned for the immediate area of Riverside Drive from approximately 11:30 Saturday night until 12:15 AM on Sunday.

A colorful, four and a half foot wide ball will be dropped from a Salisbury Fire Department tower truck at Circle Avenue and Division Street and fireworks are planned to be shot off from the vacant property at 500 Riverside Dr.

The city's downtown event is free and and intended to be family friendly and for all ages.
