Eastern Shore Delegation looks forward to upcoming legislative session

The Eastern Shore Delegation highlighted their plans for the upcoming legislative session during a panel discussion on Thursday.
Topics included fighting House Bill 1013, the so-called "Road Kill Bill." Eastern Shore delegates have said the bill would significantly harm the region's chance for receiving funding for future transportation projects, vowing to fight for the repeal.
Bills related to agriculture will also be high on the delegation's list of priorities.
"There's going to be a lot of bills once again that deal with poultry and the poultry industry and what is perceived by many as over-regulation," Del. Carl Anderton said. "So you know those things will have to be addressed."
Another key announcement came from Del. Sheree Sample-Hughes, who says emergency legislation will be introduced at the start of the session to address the lack of minority participation in Maryland's medical marijuana program.
