DSP investigating robbery of pizza delivery man

Members of the Delaware State Police say they  are investigating a robbery of a pizza delivery man that happened on Sunday night.

According to investigators, the incident happened around 6:45PM when troopers were sent to the area of Walnut Street and 2nd Street for a reported robbery of a 47-year-old pizza delivery man. The victim worked for Poliseno’s Pizzeria in Cheswold. Officials say that the driver was trying to deliver a pizza to an address on Walnut Street when he realized that the address did not exist. The victim told officials that he started to drive around the neighborhood, and he was motioned to by a person standing near the house number that was called in.

When the driver got out of his car with the pizza, he apparently told the person the price, and placed the pizza on the truck of the car. A second subject then allegedly came towards front of the vehicle armed with an unknown type rifle, and demanded money from the driver. The driver explained to officials that he refused to turn over the money, and pushed the barrel of the weapon away from him before the subjects ran from the area, taking the pizza with them. The victim was not reported to be injured.

The first suspect is described in the report as a boy, 14-15 years of age, 120-130 lbs., wearing a red hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect is described as a boy, 15-16 years of age, 130-135 lbs., wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, armed with an unknown type shotgun or pellet gun. A third subject was apparently seen running from the area with the other two, but no description could be given.
