Dover PD investigating after teen shot in face

Police in Dover are looking for answers after a teen was reportedly shot in the face Monday night.

According to officers, around 7:20 PM they responded to the 1400 block of South Farmview Drive in Dover, for reports of shots being fired. While on the scene, police were notified that a 17-year-old victim had arrived at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the face. The 17-year-old was reportedly hit by bird shot, a shotgun shell containing numerous pellets. His injuries are reportedly not life-threatening. A home in the area of the shooting was also hit by the gunfire. However, no other injuries have been reported.
