DNREC provides tips for holiday recycling in order to protect the environment

From Thanksgiving through New Years Day, Americans throw away 25% more trash than any other time of the year.
And DNREC is providing some tips in order to protect the environment.
They note, it's important to recycle any boxes or wrapping paper, plus cards and envelopes.
These can go into your curb-side recycling bin or even taken to a recycling drop-off center.
Another important thing to recycle is your Christmas tree.
But we are told Delaware state parks are no longer accepting Christmas trees.
And for any toys, clothing, or household items, DNREC says to not throw them away if they are in good use. Make sure to donate them to organizations such as Goodwill or the Salvation Army.
