Delonte Bryant has been sentenced to life in prison

On Thursday, a Wicomico County Circuit Court Judge sentenced Delonte Bryant to life in prison for first degree murder.
Members of the Maryland State Police Homicide Division found out that around 11:30AM on August 3, 2015, the victim, Dommeir Deshields, 21, was walking on Anne and Baker Streets when Bryant approached him and shot him. Ballistics and medical evidence reports noted that Deshields suffered eleven gunshot wounds, and he was later pronounced dead at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
According to the report, Bryant, 23, was sentenced to an additional 35 years, 10 of which are without parole, to run at the same time on handgun charges. Bryant was convicted in August of 2016 after a three-day jury trial.
Bryant faces additional charges for first degree assault and handgun violations from a July 4, 2015 shooting at East Road Apartments, and that matter will be set for a trial on a different date.
