Culver: Signed key agreements mark “new era” in county

Several key agreements between the city of Salisbury and Wicomico County were officially on Monday.
A number of officials, including Salisbury Mayor Jake Day and Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver, were present for the ceremonial signing.
County executive Culver says a number of agreements have been in the works over the past several months, which includes bringing the Salisbury-Wicomico Regional Airport onto the city's water system.
Another agreement signed Monday afternoon is an expansion of the Henry S. Parker complex off Naylor Mill Road.
Construction is expected to begin for three new fields in the complex. Some of the fields will be able to host both Little League and softball games.
Culver says it's about three-million dollars in costs, which has already been set aside by the county. He tells 47ABC Monday's ceremony marked a "new era" in Wicomico County.
"Wicomico County is the whole but the city of Salisbury has a lot of the population, and we're going it for everybody," he says. "I'm so happy that the county and the city has got such a great relationship working together."
Culver also adds the expansion of the athletic complex means the continuation of tournaments, such as the USSSA.
