Crabbers’ Edge Out Trojans With Late Push

The Crisfield boys basketball team picked up another big home win Wednesday night when they defeated Kent County 69-63. The win improves the Crabbers to 5-2, while the loss drops the Trojans to 4-2.

This game was everything it was talked to be. The atmosphere was playoff like and it just seemed as if everything was on the line. In the beginning of the game it looked like it was going to be all Crisfield as they had a comfortable lead after two quarters. Manuel Camper and Shemar Turner of Kent County would disagree with that as they led the Trojans to a big third quarter getting the game close and making it interesting. Going into the fourth quarter the Trojans were only down by four points. In the fourth the game got very intense as it was very close. With tough defense being played it led to many turnovers. Camper would find his way to the line multiple times late in the game, but couldn't seem to find the bottom of the net. The Crabbers went on a run late in the game led by Jordan Sterling who had twelve points in just the fourth quarter. Shemar Turner for the Trojans also had a big fourth quarter with 13 points in just the fourth quarter and went on to finish the game with 25 points. The Trojans effort just wasn't enough as the Crabbers went on a late run that led them to win the game.
