Colonel pulls ahead late to beat St. Johns

The Colonel Richardson Colonels looked to go out on top as they took on the St. Johns Vikings on the last day of the tournament. The game started slow with both teams scoring single digits in the first quarter. The scoring picked up in the second quarter as Colonels Lorenzo Turner caught fire from the three line hitting three halfway through the second quarter making it 20-10. But, the Vikings Christopher Balcerek was not going to let his team fall behind early, he hit a couple of key shots to help his team score eight unanswered to make it 22-20 at half.
In the second half the Colonels came out on fire, scoring twelve points in three minutes but, the Vikings just would not let them run away with it. They scored ten points to make it 34-30 to end the quarter. The fourth quarter was a shootout. With each team matching the others score until The Colonels seemed to be able to pull away with the score 53-47 with just under one minute left. The Vikings still would not go away. With thirty six seconds left, Brycen Hill was able to knock down a three to make it 53-50. But it was just not enough as the Colonels get the win 61-50.
