Bennett’s back! Clippers gut out big win over Snow Hill

The Bennett boys basketball team picked up a huge conference win Wednesday night when they defeated Snow Hill 56-52. The win improves the Clippers to 2-3, while the loss drops the Eagles to 3-2.
The Eagles would take he lead through most of the game as Ameer Fisher had it going. The guard would connect on a couple outside shots in the first half, while being able to get to the rim for a few more. Trailing by 8 in the second half, the Clippers would finally start to go on a run. Harold Morton would score a couple shots underneath to get it started. The Clippers continued to chip away as an and 1 from Otis Russell in the open court would tie the game up. The Eagles would respond as Takhia Wise would get a couple shots to drop before dropping a beautiful pass underneath to DJ Thornton to put his team back out in front. Morton though continued to bang on the block and a put back would tie the game with a minute to go. Snow Hill would attack the basket and get fouled and head to the line for 2. Snow Hill would miss both before Bennett would draw a foul and a trip to the line. They would knock both down before the Eagles would turn over the ball with 20 seconds left to end the game.
Bennett returns to action on January 3rd when they face off against Stephen Decatur, while Snow Hill faces Archbishop Curley in the Governor's Challenge on Thursday.
