Bennett overcomes rough start to beat Surrattsville

The Bennett Clippers started their tournament run with a tough matchup against the Surrattsville Hornets. The Clippers went off to a fast start scoring sixteen in the first quarter making it a 19-16 first quarter score. In the second quarter, the Clippers hit a slump scoring just four points.
Down 29-20 at half, the Clippers needed a momentum shift. A technical foul against the Hornets bench was just the answer. The Clippers Montaze Jefferson went on a run of fourteen points in the second half to help give his team a 61-58 lead with just under two minutes to play. After two made foul shots by Otis Russell, the Clippers were able to hold onto the win beating the Hornets 63-58.
The Clippers will take on the Sussex Tech Ravens tomorrow at 1:30 at the Wicomico Civic Center
