300+ graduate from 20th winter commencement at UMES

Friday marked a special day in Princess Anne as roughly three-hundred students walked across the graduation stage.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore ('UMES') hosted its 20th winter commencement. Three retired faculty members received honorary emeritus titles, with a combined 95 years of experience at UMES.

We're told two students from the PGA golf management program have jobs waiting for them as assistant golf pros at the Pebble Beach resort in California, which is known as one of the world's best known golf complexes.

47ABC's very own former intern DaMisha Brown delivered the commencement speech as a student speaker. Damisha interned with us this past fall.

"I leave you with this. Be encouraged. This is not the end, but the beginning. This is not the time to relax, but the time to keep going," she said during her speech. "Together, we can change what we see of this country…of ourselves. Know that when you walk out these doors today, all eyes are on you."

47ABC wishes all of the graduates the very best.
