Woman charged with burglary and theft in June pleads guilty and is sentenced in Sussex County

A woman arrested on theft and burglary charges in Millsboro in June, pleaded guilty and was sentenced in Sussex County, Wednesday morning.

According to officials, Nicole Goodwin pleaded guilty to two sets of charges including theft by false pretense less than $1500 and possession of drug paraphernalia. Goodwin was also reportedly sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for one year of level three probation, and six months in prison suspended for one year level three probation.

Goodwin also reportedly pleaded guilty to first degree criminal trespassing and theft under $1,500. Officials say she was sentenced to one year in prison suspended for one year level three probation, and one year in prison suspended for one year level three probation served concurrently to the previous case. Officials say she was also ordered to pay $66 in restitution, have no contact with victims, substance abuse evaluation and treatment provisions.

In total, officials say Goodwin will serve one year of level three probation.

Goodwin was arrested in June after police say they responded to an underage consumption and loud party complaint in Millsboro.  When they arrived, they reportedly found drugs in the home.
