Wico. Co. town meeting scheduled to discuss industrial poultry operation impacts

This week in Salisbury there will be a town hall meeting so folks can learn about the risks and potential impacts of industrial poultry operations proposed in Wicomico County.
The organizations that are sponsoring the event are the Wicomico County branch of the NAACP and a community group known as Socially Responsible Agricultural Project (SRAP). Officials from that group say the town hall is not a direct response to the questions raised by Johns Hopkins of a recent Health Impact Assessment report conducted by the Wicomico County Health Department, but they say those questions and concerns will be addressed. Officials also tell 47 ABC professors and officials from the University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins, and the University of Missouri will be leading the discussion.
The town hall will happen on Wednesday at 6 PM at the First Baptist Family Life and Cultural Center in Salisbury.
