Victims take stand in teen sex abuse case for former asst. principal

Day one of the trial of Edward Scott Husbands, who goes by Scott started Tuesday in Georgetown. Husbands is the former Delaware middle school assistant principal charged with inappropriately touching four teenage girls.
A major development right off the bat during the state’s opening arguments the defense objected, the nature of the objection was not illuminated publicly, but whatever it was led to the judge dismissing one charge, sexual abuse by a person of trust.
That means Husbands is now facing three counts of unlawful sexual abuse of a child under the age of thirteen and one count of offensive touching.
During the trial the state got to call its witnesses to the stand including the four teens. Three of those alleged victims testified about how Husbands allegedly touched their pubic area over clothing.
One of those three also alleged Husbands touched her beneath her underwear.
Now all the alleged incidents occurred while the girls were either spending the night at Husband’s house with his teenage daughter or during family friend get togethers.
The trial is set to resume Wednesday morning.
