UPDATE: Trial date set for Salisbury man who reportedly kept his wife captive for months

Michael David Austin, 51

The trial date of a man who allegedly kept his wife captive for months has been set.

According to online court documents, the trial date for Michael David Austin of Salisbury, has been set for February 28 in Wicomico County Circuit Court

Austin allegedly would lock his wife into his Salisbury apartment without giving her a key when he left for work.

Mrs. Austin reportedly finally escaped three months later after, officials say, Austin fell asleep without locking the door.

Austin was charged with false imprisonment and reckless endangerment in June 2015.

A warrant was issued for him in October after court documents allege that Austin stole from an employer in Georgia, and sent his wife threatening messages.
