UPDATE: Man identified in Millsboro homicide investigation

Members of the Delaware State Police have identified the man who was found dead in the roadway of West Monroe Street, and are now treating the incident as a homicide.
The report identifies him as Darrin T. Gibbs, 30, of Millsboro.
According to the original release, around 11:50PM on Wednesday, members of the Millsboro Police Department responded to the area of West Monroe Street and Houston Street after a 9-1-1 call reported that a man was unconscious and laying partially in the roadway. Sussex County Emergency Medical Services were then called to the roadway, and pronounced the victim dead.
Officials say that the Delaware Division of Forensic Science was contacted to remove the body from the road, and an autopsy was performed on Thursday afternoon. This revealed that the manner and cause of death to be a homicide by gunshot wound.
Delaware State Police Homicide Detectives were called in at the request of Millsboro Police Department and have taken over the investigation into this incident because foul play is apparently suspected. Detectives note that they are continuing their investigation by conducting interviews and collecting evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident.
