UPDATE: Indictment handed down concerning the crash that killed Logan Moloy

On November 22, a Worcester County Grand Jury handed down an indictment in connection to a fatal car crash that happened in September in Pocomoke City.

According to the report, Timothy Nicholas Gingrich, 19, of Greenbackville, Virginia, was the driver of a 2013 Toyota Camry that had veered off the road and collided with a tree on September 10. Logan Moloy, 21, of Salisbury, was the passenger in in Gingrich’s car, and was killed in the crash.

An investigation by the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit in conjunction with the State’s Attorney’s Office for Worcester County found that Gingrich was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, and was driving well above the 40 mile per hour speed limit. 

The charges in the indictment, as listed in the release from the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, are as follows:

  • Gross negligent manslaughter
  • Criminally negligent manslaughter
  • Negligent manslaughter by automobile while under the influence of alcohol
  • Homicide by automobile while impaired by alcohol
  • Reckless driving
  • Negligent driving

An initial appearance has been scheduled for January 4, 2017 in the Circuit Court for Worcester County.
