UPDATE: E. Salisbury School & Wicomico Early Learning have resumed normal operation

47ABC has learned that East Salisbury Elementary and Wicomico Early Learning Center have resumed their normal operations.
Earlier today, East Salisbury Elementary and Wicomico Early Learning Center were under a precautionary shelter in place status. This meant that the school was not directly on lock-down, but they were taking an abundance of caution to ensure student safety.
The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says that city police received a tip of a person running around with a gun near Church Street, which is around the area of these schools.
Officials told 47ABC that they are still looking for the suspect and they do have a description, but it is not being released at this time.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized to 47ABC that East Salisbury is not in danger, and neither is the public.
More information will be released as it comes into our newsroom.
