Two charged with impersonating first responders

Matthew Bradshaw, 19, of Dorchester County, and Tally "Kyle" Ober, 20, of Caroline County

Deputy State Fire Marshals from Maryland say they have charged two men with the impersonation of 1st responders.

According to the report, Deputy State Fire Marshals were able to find out about Tally “Kyle” Ober, 20, of Caroline County, and Matthew Bradshaw, 19, of Dorchester County, acting as 1st responders while conducting an unrelated investigation.

Officials say that both Ober and Bradshaw were served with arrest warrants, following search warrants being executed at both of their homes.

Ober and Bradshaw were taken into custody by Deputy State Fire Marshals without incident, and transported to the Caroline County Commissioner, where they were later released.

Officials say that Ober faces charges of impersonation in Talbot and Caroline Counties, and Bradshaw faces the same charges in Dorchester and Caroline Counties.    

The impersonation of a firefighter or emergency squad member is a misdemeanor and carries a penalty of 3 years in jail per charge.

The Maryland State Police and Caroline County Sheriff’s Office report that they helped the Office of the State Fire Marshal in the search and arrest warrants.
