Trial set for Millsboro woman accused in daycare death

According to court documents, the trial for a Millsboro woman charged in the daycare death of a baby has been set.
Officials say a case review for Valorie Handy has been moved to Thursday, and Handy’s trial is set for Monday in Sussex County.
Handy, who pleaded not guilty in August 2015, faces a count of first degree murder by abuse or neglect after in January 2015, Handy reportedly tried to wake a 10-month-old baby boy up from a nap at her home day care on Layton-Davis Road in Millsboro, and found him unresponsive.
Officials said that Handy, who ran Handy’s Little Disciples, was the only one on duty at the time of the baby’s death, and the baby’s death was ruled a homicide.
