The Crisfield community is coming together to support the fa

this past weeekend. but out of tragedy — a stunning show of support — for the families who lost their loved ones. 47 abc’s justina coronel has the details. track 1 handmade bows — from crisfield’s main street flower shop now decorate the landscape of crisfield. they’re not just beautiful — they carry a heavy significance. the pink — for 16-year-old daughter angelina pinkston the purple — is for angelina’s mom — 44-year-old jennifer cooper and the blue — for their family friend — five-month-old kaiden pace. all three — died in a house fire. and the bows — are tied to a community wide effort to grieve — and help the families who have lost so much. i think it’s just the whole community down here, everybody likes to help. it’s a shame tragedy brings us together but it’s a small community so everybody knows everybody. i think that helps. track 2 lynne brumely — a crisfield high faculty member — is now heading up the fund raising efforts across the town. she rallied businesses and students to help collect money for funeral costs. since angelina — was a junior at crisfield high — students are selling items they think she would have liked. they did go with pink t-shirt and the bracelets. there are bracelets now designed by two other students because she did like pink and her name was pinkston. i think all of that together kind of played a part in it. track 3 the florist is donating 50 percent from the sale of the bows. and the pizza shoppe is participating — by donating 10 percent of all their purchases on friday. we just want to help the family out, they are going through a very difficult time right now and we’re also trying to organize items that they need and we’re going to create a drop off center here at the pizza shop for anybody who wants to donate track 4 we spoke to crisfield mayor kim lawson who admits he’s proud of his community — who has shown strong ties — despite the strain of this recent tragedy. justina coronel 47 abc. there is also a go fund me page for the funeral costs. we have a link to that — and more information on upcoming fundraising events — on our website at 47 abc dot com. as of yesterday – construction is now underway on two projects in
