Take A Bowe Milford! Bucs Earn 1st Playoff Win In 20 Years!
Forty minutes wasn’t enough for Milford Wednesday night, so they finished the job in overtime. The Buccaneers earned their first playoff win in nearly 20 years as they defeated Concord 1-0 in overtime thanks to a game winning score from Rajene Bowe. The Bucs advance to face No. 3 Delmar on Saturday.
Milford comes into the game with a lot of motivation from last year as they came so close to making it, but they just couldn’t get it done. All game long Milford was controlling the ball and had the ball on their side of the field. This game was neck and neck and a very defensive game. When Concord had their chance at goals, Leah Barnett made some eccentric saves. At the end of regulation we were all tied up at 0. In overtime, the Bucs stayed on the attack. Halfway through the extra period, Rajene Bowe got breakaway, attacked the goal and was able to send a shot past the keeper and into the back of the cage.
