“Strawberry Moon”

Last night, June 21, many witnessed a cosmic phenomenon that hasn’t occurred in 68 years. Not only was it the summer solstice, or the first day of summer, but it also marked the appearance of the “Strawberry moon.” “Strawberry moon” is the name given to the red-tinted full moon in June. Its name is thought to originate from Native American tribes, and the peak of the strawberry season. In Europe, it is sometimes referred to as the “Rose moon.” A spectacular view of the colorful moon was seen all across the globe last night. The rare overlapping of these two celestial events hasn’t materialized since 1948, and isn’t projected to happen again for at least another 50 years.?
