Highlights from today's games.

welcome back time to talk some sports, and playoffs have finally arrived in the 1st state delmar’s field hockey team got their tournament run started this afternoon, as they were at home taking on lake forest and the ‘cats came out on fire in this one just over 5 minutes into the match, and they built a 2-0 lead after this back-hander goes for jordan moore then just a couple minutes later, and this time morgan fletcher takes a shot brooke tucker comes up with the save.. but the rebound goes right to fletcher and she puts it away then peyton kept gets this wrister to go as delmar built a 4-0 lead just 20 minutes into the match second half and the ‘cats looking for more shot on frame but tucker is there for another nice save but delmar just kept on coming kemp finishes off her hat trick right there. delmar gets the win, 5-1 the final as for what other games are going on later tonight for a few regional title games going on for soccer across the shore down in pocomoke, the warriors are just about set to square off against colonel richardson in the 1-a boys division on top of that, kent island’s boys team will look to keep their big season going with a win against fallston as for the girls brackets snow hill continues their historic run tonight as they are set to play host to patterson mill and finally, queen anne’s girls squad squares off against fallston in the 2-a and some high honors being handed out this week, including to wesley football’s roderick caine the senior linebacker earned a spot on the d-3 football’s team of the week after a big performance against s-u he finished the game with 5 tackles, a sack, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. and some high honors going out today for s-u volleyball’s katie stouffer as she was tabbed as the conference player of the year that comes after the senior wrapped up arguably the best career in program history… finishing with a school record 1,747 kills on top of that, both jordan lawson and nicole venturelli were recogonized for their big years as well.. earning 2nd-team all-conference honors sticking with some post season awards.. got to give a big congrats out to gavin yingling the u-s merchant marines men’s soccer standout was honored for his huge season by being tabbed as the skyline conference player of the year the bennett grad had a record year with 20 goals already.. including a overtime game-winner in the conference chanmpionship game, that sent his team to the ncaa tournament and just another quick reminder.. we will not be having sports in tonights newscast with the election going on if you want to catch highlights from tonights games across the shore, be sure to check out our website at 47abc.com that’s it for sports, keep it right here, you are watching 47abc, delmarvas trusted source for news. catch more of the action on our sports page
