back time now for sports. hayley it’s that time of year when athletes across the shore are commiting to play sports in college. we saw a number of signings today. yes its so exciting for these kids to officially sign and announce where they’re going and today, polytech had four baseball players sign to play division 1 ball. joey hass signed to play at the university of delaware and carter chasanov will play at east stroudsburg. while miguel rivera and cole garey will head to delaware state. the panthers went 13-5 last season. haass credits his teammates with helping him have a successful high school career. its been really good i got the chance to play with carter miguel and cole and weve had a really good team the coaches have been good they’ve taught me a lot about pitching and also hitting so yeah its been pretty good here. to sussex tech, all smiles for madi bada this morning. the ravens senior signed her letter of intent to play lacrosse next year at east carolina university. the athletics landscape in the bayside will be shifting a bit ahead of the 2017 school year. parkside high school will move from the 2a division to the 3 division. the school’s enrollment was meassured at 997, putting it in the upper half of the state. the rams will be the fourth smallest school in the maryland 3a. the move means that, come state tournament time, the rams will face much steeper competition from larger high schools across maryland. all conference honors came out today for field hockey in the bayside and henlopen. honorees include jodi hollamon of delmar who won henlopen conference coach of the year and kim fitzferald of bennett, your 2016 bayside south coach of the year. we’ll have complete coverage of the honorees on our website and across social media. that’s it for sports – more news and weather straight ahead. stay with us. catch more of the action on our sports page
