Highlights from today's games.

delaware.. and a few good games going on that’s right first round of the field hockey state tournament.. and we had a thriller of a game going on too milford field hockey team was looking to add just 1 more game to their incredible season this afternoon, as they were at home taking on concord. bucs looking to get the action started here early on darby brennan with a shot right there.. it finds the back of the net however it would be waved off for being dangerous milford on the attack again rajene bowe with the shot this time, but anya marshall with the great save scoreless after regulation so we would head to o-t raiders now with a shot as sarah raab…. but leah barrett there to turn it away and then milford would finally break through breakaway for bowe.. and she sends a dribbler just past the keeper far post and milford earns their first playoff win in 20 years! 1-0 the final in o-t “it means a lot, our coach told has told us since we were freshman that we havent made it to the tournament it years, and it feels good to finally make it past the first round. we made history for our school.” polytech was looking to pull off the upset as they took on archmere just 16 minutes into the match, and the panthers showing they came to play madilyn mckay goes baseline, sends the pass over to lacy bayley, and she puts it home to give the panthers a 1-0 lead the defense then took over for poly holly rembold posted a shutout for the panthers, but got a little help there from camryn dennis on the clear and polytech gets it done 1-nil.. they advance to face 2nd seeded caravel. and sussex tech made the trip up north to try and pull off the upset against 4th seeded tower hill tech playing some tough defense in this one shot on frame, but macey mitchell comes up with the nice save just a few minutes later, and the ravens keeper does it again another rocket of a shot on frame, but mitchell turns it back tech down 1 at the break. but the hillers kept coming in the second half isabelle pilson drives through the entire defense for the score sussex tech drops this one, 5-0 and it was the regional semifinals over at north dorchester as the eagles took on colonel richardson home team out in front here early after gorgie turner sends that one over, and it eventually falls in for the point eagles looking for more set goes to the outside by lean asplen… and kathryn allen comes flying in for the kill c-r trying to work their way back into this thing rachel jessie with the tough serve there gets the eagles out of system and results in the colonels getting the point but north dorchester just kept coming check out myasia jones the big time block right there and north dorchester advances… 3-1 the final i think it made us play harder because we wanted it more and the crowd was intense and encouraged us to push harder even we we got down on ourselves we just kept fighting. and bennett’s volleyball team was taking on atholton in the regional semifinals tonight the raiders came to play in this one early on, big time block there at the net by lisa zoch gives them the point and the first set second set, and the clippers get something going set goes to the outside, and big sweeping kill there from ashlyn brock but this one was all atholton brooke mason with some heat on that one from the right side bennett drops this one, 3-0 the final and it was a battle tonight in centreville as queen anne’s took on kent island in the regional semifinals and the lions kept their incredible season going, gutting out a 5 set win, 3-2 and of course it was signing day, and there was a big one going on over at delmar this afternoon softball star avery wheatley is set to take her game to the division 1 level after signing to play at appalachian state last year she earned 1st team all-conference honors for the wildcats at shortstop “i chose appalachian state because they have a great athletic program, their players are great people it felt like home to me.” that’s it for sports. we’ll wrap things up after the break keep it right here — you’re watching 47 abc! catch more of the action on our sports page at 47abc.com hairstyles brought to you by designer’s edge
