Salisbury man arrested after alleged assault while holding a knife

On Tuesday night, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says they reported to an alleged assault in progress, that ended in arrest.
According to the report, a deputy responded to a home on East Road around 8:50PM. When they arrived, the deputy met with a man who said that he had an argument with Shally Handy, 34, of Salisbury, over a woman. The victim went on to explain that Handy reportedly pulled out a knife and began moving towards the victim in a “menacing manner.”
During the investigation, the deputy says that the knife Handy allegedly used in this incident was found.
Handy was placed under arrest and taken to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance where he was charged with assault first degree and assault second degree, the Commissioner detained Handy in the Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bond.
