Salisbury announces city management changes

Mayor Jake Day announced city administrator Tom Stevenson will take on a new role as Chief of Operations for the City’s Public Works Department.

This new position was created due to the upcoming retirement of deputy operations manager Howard Landon. Landon served for the city of Salisbury for 50 years.

The Chief of Operations will oversee the city public works team on a day-to-day basis.

It will continue the upkeep of city streets, street lights, and sidewalks.

This job will also oversee the daily operation of sanitation services and any other functions based out of the City Service Center.

While a nationwide search is conducted, Julia Glanz will serve as Acting City Administrator for the time being.

With all of these new changes, Mayor Jake Day is optimistic about this transition as he tells 47 ABC, “I think we have a great team, I’m very excited about the position we are in and I think everybody’s really got a job matched to their strengths now.”

The new roles will take in effect December 5th, 2017.
