Queen Anne’s Edges Kent Island In Bayside Title

The Queen Anne’s football team claimed the 2016 Bayside Title Friday night when they traveled to Kent Island and pulled out a 24-14 win. The win improves the Lions to 9-1, while the loss drops the Buccaneers to 9-1.

The Buccaneers would strike first off a short touchdown run from Austin Ryan. The Lions would be able to answer before the half was done after a fumble exchange was picked up by Jordan Willmer and taken the other way for the score. The teams would head to half tied up at 7-7, but QA came out ready to go in the second half. Jykel Gardner would take a short touchdown run. The Lions then extended their lead after CJ Rodgers would break loose for a touchdown run from mid field. The Bucs weren’t ready to go away just yet as they got a touchdown pass to Sean Mooney. But that’s as close as they were going to get as the Lions defense shut the door from there.
