Police searching for suspect in car-jacking incident

The Delaware State Police say they are investigating a carjacking that happened on Monday afternoon near Cool Springs Farm south of Milton.
According to investigators, the incident happened around 5:30PM on November 21 as a 64-year-old man was approached by another man on East Meadowview Drive, saying he needed a ride home. The victim told officers that he agreed to give the man a ride, and as they got to the end of East Meadowview Drive, the suspect turned off the ignition. The suspect then allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat, and said that he was taking the car. The victim got out of the car along with the suspect, who then got back in on the driver’s side and drove away.
The 64-year-old victim was reported to be uninjured in the incident and was able to call 9-1-1 from a nearby residence. The car, a Mazda Miata, was found by officers a short time later abandoned on Lewes-Georgetown Highway, US9.
The suspect was described in the report as a man, 25-35 years old, 6’02”-6’04” tall, 200-210 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes, wearing brown overalls. He also appeared to be unarmed.
