Police looking for wanted Smyrna woman on reported assault charges
Police say they are looking for the public’s help to find a woman wanted on assault among other charges in Smyrna.
According to Delaware State Police, 36-year-old Tangela Raymond, of Smyrna, is wanted for second degree assault, aggravated menacing, theft of a motor vehicle, endangering the welfare of a child, and leaving the scene of a property damage collision. Police say she is also wanted by Smyrna Police for third degree assault, as well as numerous warrants out of local courts.
Police say in the latest incident that happened on Monday around 8AM, Raymond and her 47-year-old husband were reportedly having a verbal argument when the husband went upstairs to tend to their one year old child. As the victim was bending over to tend to the child, Raymond reportedly stabbed him in the back. Police say the victim then ran down the stairs with Raymond behind him continuing to stab him when he fell dropping his car keys.
Police say Raymond then grabbed the keys, entered a 2005 Mercedes Benz, and began backing out of the driveway when she struck a Verizon box and light pole causing damage to both before leaving the area. Police say the victim was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released with non life threatening injuries, and that the one year old child was uninjured.
Police say Raymond may be driving the cream colored Mercedes with Delaware registration 419369.
