Pocomoke Tops Snow Hill To Advance In States

The Pocomoke boys soccer team earned a win in the Regional Quarterfinals of the state tournament Tuesday night when they defeated Snow Hill 2-0. The Warriors advance to face top seeded Crisfield on Friday.

The teams would be in a bit of a defensive battle early on. Pocomoke would be able to fire a couple shots on frame from Jared Hancock and Noah Brittingham, but each shot were turned back by Eagles keeper Zach Donoway. Finally, late in the first half the home team would break through when a loose ball in the box would be put home by Bryen Motes. Pocomoke would take the 1-0 lead into half, but would look to build on their momentum in the second half. Eventually, Brittingham would play a ball into the box that Hancock came flying in and was able to volley in near post for the score. The defense would do the rest as Pocomoke would close out the match for the win.
