Pandemonium in Pocomoke! Brittingham’s Last Second Goal Helps Pocomoke Earn Regional Title!

For 79 minutes, the Colonel Richardson boys soccer team played their game and was poised to pull off the upset over Pocomoke in the 1A East Regional Finals.
Fortunately for the Warriors, they had one minutes left.
They would use nearly every bit of it as Noah Brittingham would score the game tying goal with just 8.8 seconds left to force overtime. There just over 5 minutes in, Noah Schoolfield would head home a cross from Gus Enriquez to give Pocomoke the match, sending them to the State Semifinals with a 2-1 win.
The Colonels came out with a focused mindset. From the opening kick, they would play their game and quickly were able to draw the first goal of the game. Jeremy Roop would send a free kick into the box that would bounce around before Dylan Wilson would get a foot on it and send it home. The Warriors then had a chance to tie the match after drawing a penalty kick. Enriquez would step up for the shot and send to the top left corner, but Colonels keeper Remington Mangum would make an incredible diving save to help maintain his teams lead.
That was just the start of his strong match.
The Colonels would take a 1-0 lead into halftime and were content to pack it in defensively and lean on their back row. Pocomoke controlled the possession, but wasn’t able to get clean crosses through the box or generate a clean shot. The game got more and more frantic as the time wore on. With under a minute to play, it felt like Colonel had pulled off the upset.
Pocomoke had other plans.
The would send a cross into the box with time quickly running down, Enriquez would send a cross into the box. Jared Hancock would settle the pass, then had a great touch pass to Brittingham near post. With defenders coming at him, he send a shot on frame that would get deflected up and into the back of the net.
With all the momentum in their favor, Pocomoke marched into overtime looking to close out the win. Five minutes in they would draw a corner. Enriquez would play it into the box before the ball was sent out back to him. He then crossed it to the far post, where Noah Schoolfield was able to head it home near post, giving the Warriors their incredible, improbable and unbelievable win.
