Officials say more than a thousand people are without power in Talbot County.

According to Choptank Electric officials, a car struck a pole in downtown St. Michaels around 2PM causing Grace Street Substation to open, and more than 1,164 members to be without power.

Officials say that the driver of the car was taken to Shore Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Officials say crews are on the scene of the outage, and that it will take about three hours at minimum for power to be back on.

They ask that members of the public watch out for downed power lines during these kinds of accidents.

As of 4PM, Choptank Electric officials said that most of their members have been restored, but there are still about 15 members who will be without power until final repairs have been made.
