Millsboro PD searching for an attempted robbery suspect

Members of the Millsboro Police Department say they are looking for a suspect who assaulted an employee at the Millsboro Family Dollar during an attempted robbery.
According to the report, on Thursday around 8:30PM, a man went into the Millsboro Family Dollar and approached an employee, demanding that they open the cash register. When the employee was unable to open the cash register, the suspect allegedly showed them an unknown type of handgun and he continued to insist that they open the register.
Officials say that the employee was still not able to open the cash register, so the suspect hit them on the head with the handgun. The suspect then apparently forced the employee to the back of the store, and another employee inside the building heard the commotion and saw the suspect at that time. Officials report that the suspect then ran out of the store through the front door.
The suspect was seen driving away from the store in what was described as a 2 door compact car, silver in color, and had a black decal on the side resembling a Nike logo. The suspect in this case was described by officials as a man, about 5-9 ft- 6ft in height, and was last seen wearing a black ski mask and all black clothing.
