Local group to honor World AIDS Day

December 1st is World AIDS Day. This day provides an opportunity for people worldwide to show their support for people living with HIV. World AIDS Day is also a time to remember those who lost their lives to the disease and raise awareness on how to prevent it.

According to the CDC more than 1.2 million people in the U.S. are living with HIV, and 1 in 8 of them don’t know it. The CDC recommends people  ages 13 to 64 be tested once a year, and here locally CAMP Rehoboth will be doing free  HIV testing on Thursday  from 9AM-5PM at their community center.

The Health Departments at Worcester and Wicomico County do free HIV testing and folks can call to set up appointments.
