Knaggs goal lifts Kent Island over Parkside

Kent Island advanced to the 2A East Regional Championship game Thursday afternoon with their 1-0 win over Parkside. The Buccaneers will now face Fallston on Tuesday.

From the first whistle you could tell the coaches from Parkside and Kent Island had instilled strong defensive minds in their players. Players were flying all over the place making defensive plays. After a couple of missed opportunities by both teams, Ryan Knaggs got the ball and ripped a shot from about 35 yards out just out of reach of Parkside’s goalie. The Rams had a very nice chance to score off of a corner as Horacio Bonala just misses the header that would’ve tied the game up. Ryan Knaggs goal ended up being the lone goal as the Buccaneers won the game 1-0.
