Indoor farmer’s market open for winter months in Millsboro

“It’s nice cause it keeps us in the area during the winter when all the other places are shut down,” explains Kaila, a vendor at the market.

East Coast Garden Center started their weekly indoor farmer’s market Tuesday, that runs throughout the winter months until April, to give the local community a farmer’s market to go to.

Manager at East Coast Garden Center, Sandy Lichauer, says, “Well our mission for the farmer’s market is to bring local produce local business to the community for support and you know support back to those local businesses.”

This gives vendors, like Abdel , who depend solely on farmer’s markets for business, to continue selling his products.

Abdel says, “It’s great to have an indoor farmer’s market at least your sales don’t go down to zero, so you keep up with your sales. They still slow down a little bit a little slower, but having an indoor farmers market actually saves you from having any sales or any business.”

This is Abdel’s second season at this farmers market. He says there’s good value in it, something that David Bean, another vendor agrees with.

“It’s good for us but its also services our customers that support us you know year round and that’s important to us too, is supporting our customers in the off season as well as busy season,” explains Bean.

The farmers market runs every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. until April.
