Hogan to work with Trump, despite no endorsement

It’s no secret Republican Governor Larry Hogan was not in favor of president elect Donald Trump during his campaign. In fact he went as far as to say he wouldn’t endorse the candidate.
Wednesday though the governor issued a statement showing he will work with Trump to make Maryland better.
Hogan said, in part: “I offer my congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump and to Vice President-elect Mike Pence, and will work with the new administration on behalf of all Marylanders. Now is the time for all of us to come together to find real solutions to the problems we face as a country.”
As for what it will mean going forward for Hogan that he didn’t endorse the president-elect, state officials tell 47 ABC there probably will be no fall out.
However now with the election in the rear view mirror Del. Charles Otto (R) offered his opinion on the matter.
“You don’t burn bridges. It was unfortunate I think that the Governor’s stance with President Trump…I’d rather him just kept quiet on the issue,” Otto said. “One thing I do know, I’m pretty confident of is we’ll keep our governor the next two years. I don’t think he’s going to be offered the secretary of state or any kind of position such as that and that’s a good thing I think.”
As a side note Otto told 47 ABC that given the results of the election that it’s a good time to be a republican in Maryland.
