HALO hosts a Thanksgiving dinner with a new partnership for catering

As many gather around the dinner table on Thanksgiving, some are sacrificing their Thanksgiving celebration, in order to give back and feed those in need.
HALO, a homeless shelter in Salisbury had volunteers prep dinners.
More than 100 mouths were fed Thursday and for the first time ever, HALO partnered with Salisbury food truck Vittles, in order for them to cater the event for those who have nowhere to call home.
Vittles owner Josh Mason says their new business is hoping to give back to those in need by providing all the Thanksgiving fixings. Everything provided at the event was donated in some way, shape, or form.
Donations came from across the community such as green beans with bacon, mac and cheese, pumpkin pie, and 40 pounds of finished turkey.
All of this food took hours to prep. But none of this would have been possible, if it weren’t for the volunteers.
Both Halo and Vittles have crews assisting the event.
Halo’s Food Service Administrator Thomas Black tells 47 ABC that they are truly blessed to have such a giving community.
Black tells us it’s a humbling experience for everybody at HALO because they are volunteer-based service through the community and everybody is serving with an open heart.
